Hi, I'm not even sure if I'm in the right category or whatever but... how do I take off these boxes in the website and then add something else on it. I would like to take these off and add a "guild banner" on it

You can't remove the ads.

For the top one, adding
#logostrip { height: 0px; width: 0px; }

aught to do it

That's for the background, so for the logo, go into the ACP > Skins & Templates > Macros/Images, create a new macro called IPB_LOGO and paste your image code (from somewhere like Photobucket, Tinypic, Imageshack, etc.) It might look like this:

<img src="http://MYIMAGELINK.png" border="0" alt="MY SITE" />

Oh, sorry, i was in a hurry, and thought he just wanted to remove them rather then change them.
For the top box, go to ACP > General Configuration > Logo URL, input your logo url. (funnily enough)

For the second, you cannot remove the adverts. (Atleast, until V3/Phalanx arrives)
However, if you go to ACP > Skins and Templates > Board Wrappers, and add
<a href="LINK"><img src="IMAGE"></a>

below <% BOARD HEADER %>
and above <% NAVIGATION %>
